Stranded & Kindle Unlimited

After much thought and consideration, I’ve decided to pull Stranded from retailers other than Amazon, so I can put the series in Kindle Unlimited. Kindle Unlimited, in case you didn’t know, is a new subscription service for ebooks from Amazon. It costs $9.99 a month and you can borrow as many books as you want, as long as they’ve been enrolled in Kindle Unlimited.

I’m going to be honest here and say that Stranded has lost some momentum, sales-wise, and I kind of want to try something new with it. The first part will still be free outright for now, so feel free to download it to try out the series. In the next week or so, parts 2-5 will be put into Kindle Unlimited, which means they have to be exclusive to Amazon. I’m not sure how it’ll work out, but I don’t have much to lose right now, and I was planning on putting my next serial, “Cross My Heart”, into KU anyway, so this will make my books a bit more uniform. I will say that I won’t be putting bundles into Kindle Unlimited, but it shouldn’t matter anyway since the individual parts will all be in.

Part of my decision comes from my need to reduce stress. Publishing at multiple retailers just eats up too much time, and a recent issue with Smashwords (my distributor) when trying to upload my Stranded bundle, just sort of made me realize that my time would be better spent writing. Only needing to publish at Amazon will save me loads of time and energy. I hope you non-Kindle users will understand.

On a happier note, “Cross My Heart, Part 1” is going very well. The main character’s name is Emily, and I’ve been getting reacquainted with a song I loved when I was young called “Emily” by Jewel. Take a listen below. It’s quite heartwrenching:

Stranded: The Complete Serial Bundle Now Available!

I know I haven’t posted an update in awhile, but I just wanted to let you all know that the Stranded: The Complete Serial bundle is now available on Amazon for $6.99, over 40% off the individual book prices. It’ll be available at other online bookstores in the coming weeks.

All the Stranded covers got a facelift as well, to better fit the romance genre. I hope you like them!

Also, I have a new serial starting in the end of November, entitled Cross My Heart 1. I don’t have an exact release date yet, but I do want to mention that I intend to make it an Amazon exclusive, so it’ll be available via Kindle Unlimited. I’ve heard good things about the subscription service, and I really want to try it out with a new series. So look for Cross My Heart 1, my first romantic suspense serial coming soon! I will post again when I have a release date set.

I’ve Been Away Too Long!

I can’t believe how long it’s been since my last update. I feel so bad! I won’t go into tons of detail publicly, but I had some health problems I needed to sort through. Back in June, I got really sick but pushed myself a wee bit too hard to finish Stranded 5 on time, and by the time it got published, I was really too exhausted to blog or do much of anything really 😦  It’s a hard lesson to learn…your health always has to come first! Remember that, everyone! If you’re sick, allow yourself to rest or take breaks or whatever you need. I know women especially feel the need to push through and be “Superwoman” at all times, but seriously, listen to your body when things don’t feel right and let yourself slow down. The world won’t come to an end, I promise!

Fortunately, I am feeling better, but not 100% quite yet. I’m still in the process of getting back into the swing of things. I’m currently making notes and brainstorming for my next serial, which I’m tentatively planning to release the first part in November or maybe December. It’ll depend on how things are going with me personally, but I’m definitely eager to start working on it! 🙂

I want to give a warm thank you to everyone who is reading or has read Stranded. It was a lot of fun to write, and it feels so good to have my first series (serial) under my belt. I think that first step is always the hardest part. But I’m feeling a little more confident in the whole publishing process and less intimidated, so so far it’s been a really positive experience. I hope if you’ve enjoyed my work you’ll consider recommending it to friends and family. As always, I appreciate all of you who have taken a chance on an up and coming author like myself. Thank you so much, and I will keep you all updated on when my next serial will be out!

Stranded 4 is Out Now! And Other News!

Well, I know I missed my end of April deadline, but Stranded 4: Sea of Love is out now! 😀 It’s currently available at Amazon and Smashwords, and will soon be available at other online retailers too! This part was so much fun to write, because it’s a big turning point for Sarina and Brandt. And fun fact, the ending of this part is the very first scene that popped into my head when I got the idea for this story, and I’ve been looking so forward to writing it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! 🙂

I’ll go ahead and mention that part 5 will be out in June, and it will mark the end of the series. I know, sad and exciting at the same time! I can’t wait to write it. Expect lots of twists and turns in that one!

And finally, if you haven’t read the series yet, I do want to mention that Stranded 1: Sarina At Sea is currently free at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple, and several other online retailers. So if you’re curious about the series, you can try it out without spending a penny! I know I know…I’m so generous! Word of warning though…you might just get hooked on it! 😉

Stranded 3 is Available!

Yep, the subject title doesn’t lie! Stranded 3 has been released! I again want to apologize for the delays (including the delay in even making this blog post *blush*). I’m back on schedule and it should be smooth sailing from now on. Stranded 4 is already in the works, and things are going well.

In case I have failed to mention it (my memory is terrible!), Stranded is going to have a total of 5 parts. So I’m at the halfway point (a little over, actually!) and I’m preparing for the end of the series (I know, sadness!).

I’m not sure yet what my next project will be. I have a lot of ideas I’m looking forward to tackling, but I can’t decide if I should continue on with doing serials or move on to novels (most likely, stand-alone novels). I must admit, the tight release schedule of serials makes me all a-dither sometimes, but on the other hand, I like that it provides fresh material on a more frequent basis. I’d love to hear some opinions on the format you prefer, if you would like to share your thoughts in the comments 🙂

Further Delays :(

Le sigh. Stranded 3 won’t be ready today as I had hoped. I’m looking to release it sometime next week (keeping within the outside deadline of 3 weeks anyway). This week has just been a bummer, with personal issues that I won’t go into here. It just seems like it’s been one problem after another lately, but I’m hoping to have some time this weekend and early next week to finish up writing, editing, and doing the cover for Stranded 3. I fell way behind, and hopefully this is just a fluke and Stranded 4 and 5 will not hit any (or so many) snags.

Thank you for your patience while I work things out. I promise that Stranded 3 is coming, and with any luck it will not disappoint!

Curse You, Computer!

Deadlines are not my friend. Whenever I set a deadline for anything, it seems like the universe comes along and says, “Uh uh, no way. Not gonna let you!” Long story short, my computer went on the fritz last week and wouldn’t boot. I was lucky enough to have it work just long enough to publish Stranded 2, but didn’t even get a chance to blog about it 😦  I finally got it working again just a couple days ago and have been frantic trying to catch up on my work. I had planned on having Stranded 3 out this coming Monday (the 17th), but sadly now it probably won’t be released until Friday (and I’m crossing my fingers for even that soon of a release!)

With any luck, there won’t be any further delays, and I can keep this series on schedule! I’m off now to work on it, but I just wanted to post and bring you up to speed! I’ll post again when I firm up a date for the release of Stranded 3.

Stranded 2 Coming Soon(er than you think)!

At the end of Stranded 1, I gave a very loose release “date” of March 2014 for Stranded 2. I had every intention of releasing each installment around the 14th of the month, so approximately a 4 week wait between releases. Well, I actually think the release dates will be closer together than that 😀 I’m shooting for every 2 weeks, with an outside maximum range of 3 weeks. I’m loving writing this series and it’s silly to just sit on the episodes when they’re ready to go just to keep with some randomly assigned release date. So nuts to that! Stranded 2: Light My Fire will be available March 3rd!

NEW BOOK: Stranded #1: Sarina At Sea

As mentioned in my introduction post, I was trying to reach a Valentine’s Day deadline for my first published release, and yay! I made it! My first book is entitled Stranded #1: Sarina At Sea.

While on a cruise with her fiance, twenty-four year-old Sarina gets more than she bargained for when their ship runs into an unexpected storm. She and another passenger—a ruggedly handsome stranger—fall overboard and wind up stranded on a deserted island, giving her all the time she needs to reassess her life…and her engagement.

This is a serial, and I currently have five books planned for it. Please check it out at:

Introduction Time!

Hello to all those who wander on to my blog! My name is Elle Kyle, and I’m a (very) soon-to-be romance author. I’m hoping to release my first book on Valentine’s Day. (I know, I know! Only two days away! Time is not on my side right now!). It’ll be the first in a serial called “Stranded” about two strangers who are stranded on a desert island, and well, not to give anything away, but sparks begin to fly between them 😉 More on that later though!

A little about me. I’m a Florida girl, a cat lover, an 80’s child, and a hopeless romantic. Love songs are the best, and more and more I find myself tearing up when I listen to them. Currently have John Legend’s “All of Me” on a loop:

Anyway, I’ll wrap this up. This blog is still a work in progress, but should have all the pages and such updated soon. Just trying to focus on hitting my Valentine’s Day deadline!

Elle Kyle
